His beginnings:

He begun with the swimming in 1977, in the Ishevsk's team, freestyle and back.

He begun the cycling in may of 1980, in the team Impulse. His trainer is Oleg Blinov.

He winned his first race in june of 1980, on the Tchaïkosky's stadium

He decided to prove in the cycling after to have seen Sergueï Soukhoroutchenkov to become olympic's champion on Moscow

In 1984, he joined the Olympic Center of Samara

In 1987, he joined the national team of The Soviet Union and becomes world champion junior on Bergamo.

In 1989, he takes a season in France under the colors of the Team Bonnat

In 1992, he became professionnal with the team RUSS-Baïkal, directed by Viktor Kapitonov, next he joined the italian team Lampre-Colnago after to win the Bergamo Week's.

Pavel always carries on him the icon of russian's saints whom his mother gave him. Pavel studied during three years at the University of Samara to become a sport instructor.
